Tent Troupe

Montpelier Mansion

Concert in the park

Watkins Regional Park

, 301 Watkins Park Drive, Upper Marlboro will hold concerts in the park. The free family-oriented concerts are for all ages and feature a variety of entertainers.

Concerts are lawn seating so bring a blanket or beach chairs. Come early and enjoy a ride on the train and carousel before the concerts start; rides close at 7 p.m. Visit the nature center until 8:45 p.m. Shows may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Exhibits

The City Hall Art Gallery

features hubcaps and other artwork by Michelle Johnson through June. Fifty percent of proceeds from the sale of exhibit artwork will be donated to the Bowie Food Pantry.

During the school year, the Young Person's Art Gallery

at City Hall showcases the artwork of students attending schools located in Bowie, featuring a different school each month. The Arts Committee Poster Contest winners are shown in July. In August, the artwork of individual young artists who reside in a Bowie community, or attend a Bowie school is exhibited.

During June, the gallery features the artwork of the following Samuel Ogle Middle School

The City of Bowie Arts Committee provides local artists an opportunity to display and sell their artwork in City Hall Art Galleries. City Hall is open weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you are an artist who lives in the city, in a community with a Bowie ZIP code or are a member of a Bowie-based art group and would like information about showing your work, call Leni Stern at 301-809-3068.
